A handcrafted candle inspired by the traditional Brigid doll (Brídeóg), reimagined in wax. Twisted into a doll-like form in orange, white, and green, and adorned with three snowdrops, this piece honors the first stirrings of spring and Brigid’s associations with renewal, protection, and creative fire. The wax is infused with essence of Rush from Ireland. aprox 7.8 inches tall or close to 19cm.
Rather than straw or rushes, this piece is sculpted in wax, with the form sculpted to embody feminine form, a symbolic shape of the traditional doll. The three colors reflect seasonal and symbolic themes:Orange – hearth fire, inspiration, and returning light
White – snowdrops, clarity, and winter’s last breath
Green – growth, renewal, and life beginning to stir
The three snowdrops represent hope, resilience, and the quiet promise of spring emerging through the cold.
This candle is intended as a decorative curio for seasonal display, altar spaces, or mindful reflection around Brigid’s Day (1 February) and the transition from winter to spring.
This item is inspired by folklore and seasonal symbolism and is not a historical reproduction or religious artifact.
You may choose from one candle or a ritual kit which includes candle oil and small Brigids cross made out of irish rush.
