These Yule ritual box kits were created to work as an Altar piece, or home centerpiece to welcome the return of the Sun during Winter Solstice season.

Each will come with a Ritual that I’ve written that you may use as a suggestion to incorporate into your own Yuletide tradition.

The word Yule is said to have come from the Norse word Iul meaning ‘wheel’ and suggested that this was the time when the Great Wheel of Existence had completed its circle. The Yule log tradition connects back to the Germanic & Norse peoples of ancient Europe.
Often a whole tree was burned for the twelve days in the hearth or in a bonfire between the solstice and the New Year. The tree was carefully selected and brought into the home. where it would be cleansed and blessed. At the end of the Yule festival season, a piece of coal or some of the ash was set aside for kindling the next year’s fire, the ashes were kept in the home for protection. As hearths became less available in the home, the Yule log tradition would take on different forms (log shaped cakes, or ceramic candle displays) and the modern focus became to add candles to your Yule log and enjoy the beauty indoors.

Evergreens were cut and brought indoors to symbolize life, rebirth and renewal. They were thought to have power over death because their green never faded, and they were used to defeat winter and hold back death and destruction. Because of their strength and tenacity, they were also believed to encourage the Sun’s return.

U.S. Customers - the shipping is costly for these kit's so I've tried to keep the price affordable with all that it entails. (Holly, Rowan, and Thuga cannot be shipped as they’re not heat treated)
