During The winter season many mythical creatures that are hoofed begin to appear. In mythology cloven animals serve as protectors, as guardians, as beacons of liminal spaces, and often correctors or creators of misrule. From Krampus and his one cloven foot, Pan, the Yule goat, the horned god, Baphomet, up to modern day Rudolph they have been part of the Magic of Yuletide season traditions.
